A: Yes, you can!

Q: Are we allow to trade all kind of stocks?
A: All stocks from any market , yet the beta shown on the webite would be N/A if the stock is not from the US, HK and China market.
Q: Is fx counted as futures? / Does that mean we can trade FX pairs ?
A: You can only do cash based FX pairs.
Q: What is the size of our cash , and is there any leverage?
A: $500,000HKD, leverage is allowed.
Q: When we are talking about leveraging, are leveraged stocks possible? Since on certain platforms leveraged stocks are traded as CFDs and if leveraged how to calculate the deploy ratio?
A: We allow long/short Stocks, ETFs, ETNs, while derivatives such as Warrents, Options, Futures, CBBCs, CFDs are prohibited. CFDs are counted as one of the derivatives. Participants who trade derivatives will be disqualified.
Q: If I deploy 40% of my capital and the stock rises 30%, will I get disqualified since it takes up more than 50% of my profolio?
A: The calculation of the Capital Deployed Ratio will be counted on average throughout the trading period. If your Capital Deployed Ratio at the end of the competition is greater than 50%, you will be disqualified.
Q: Sorry I have an internship during the period of training sessions. I can attend the sessions during commuting but I'm afraid that I cannot open my camera. / Would I be screened out because of participation?Are the training sessions held on zoom? Can I watch the recordings again if I missed one session?
A: Participation, including ideas contribution and quality of your in-class response and attandence, will be counted as one of the screening criteria. The video of the 5 training sessions would be posted on to our webisite. It is strongly encouraged that all the participants in Traders Academy to join the training sessions. 40 participants would be screened into trading round.
Q: What if I can not attend f2f discussion because I will not be in HK in February 2021 ? Can f2f discussion conducted online in such case ?
A: It will be depends on the pandemic situation in Hong Kong. If the F2F discussion goes along with the plan, participants who fail to attend the F2F discussion might have to send an email to the event coordinator.
Q: Could we still participate in the beginners academy if we are not based in HK at the moment?
A: Sure!
