Application Process
Q: Can we apply if we are not based in HK at the moment?
A: Yes, sure! We welcome participants from Universities across the world if you’re interested in trading. Also, participants who graduated within 2 years are also welcomed to join!
Q: Can I join as a team with my friends?
A: No, only individual participant is allowed at the moment.
Training Sessions
Q: Is it mandatory to attend training sessions?
A: No, it is not a mandatory practice for participants.
Q: Will my attendance for training sessions affect my overall marking?
A: Marks will not be deducted due to your attendance. Yet, it is encouraged to join our training sessions to pitch your portfolio ideas to our traders.
Active performance and great pitching ideas will be appreciated with bonus marks (up to 3 marks per 1 session).
10 will be the maximum bonus marks across the training period.
Q: Can I cancel my appointment for the training session?
A: Yes, you can! Maximally you can cancel twice across the training period. You cannot do any actions afterwards, including making and cancelling appointments.
Q: Is it required to turn on my camera during the training sessions? Will it be taken into account for my bonus marks?
A: It is not a mandatory practice for participants to turn on their cameras. Yet, we appreciate all the active engagements during the sessions! Active engagement will be one of the judging criteria for bonus marking.
Commission Fee
Q: How would be the commission Fee be calculated in the first round?
A: In order to provide a trading environment similar to real experience, Invbots has implemented a commission fee on every transaction in our trading simulation system. Here is the commission fee schedule of our trading system :
Rules of Competition
First Round: Portfolio Building
Q: What is the size of our cash? Is there any leverage?
A: $1,000,000 HKD, leverage is not allowed.
Q: What will be the platform for me to build my portfolio?
A: Participants can build their trading portfolios on our portfolio building system.
Q: Are we allowed to hold trades over the weekends?
A: Yes, you can!
Q: Are we allowed to trade all kinds of stocks?
A: You are allowed to trade stocks from US and HK market.
Q: If I deploy 70% of my capital and the stock decreases 50%, will I receive mark deduction since my Capital Undeployed Ration is over 30%?
A: The calculation of the Capital Undeployed Ratio will be counted on average throughout the trading period. If your Capital Undeployed Ratio at the end of the competition is greater than 30%, mark deduction will be given accordingly.
Q: When we are talking about leveraging, are leveraged stocks possible? Since on certain platforms leveraged stocks are traded as CFDs and if leveraged how to calculate the deploy ratio?
A: We allow buy/sell stocks, ETFs and ETNs while devariatives trading, such as Warrants, Options, Futures, CBBCs, CFDs and Leverage, is prohibited. Naked shorting stocks is also not allowed.
Second Round: Paper Trading (IB)
Q: Which will be the platform for me to do paper trading?
A: You will trade on Interactive Brokers's Paper Trading System.
Q: Will devariatives trading be allowed at this stage?
A: Warrants, Options, Futures, CBBCs, CFDs are still prohibited. However, leverage is allowed at this stage.
Q: Will naked shorting stocks be available?
A: Yes, sure!
Stage 3 — Enquiries on Fianl Round / Awards
Q: Will there be an offline event for the final pitching round?
A: Sadly we don’t have such a plan for that. Our training sessions, trading rounds, as well as the final pitching round, will be held virtually.
Q: Would it be possible for us to change the gift cards given into cash?
A: Sorry, this option is not available.
